Michael A. Burton is a partner with Jauert & Burton LLP and has practiced in Auglaize, Shelby, Allen, and Mercer Counties since 1995. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant at Price Waterhouse in Columbus for five years. Michael’s practice focuses on administration of estates; medicaid and elder law planning; commercial, probate, and domestic litigation; and municipal law. Michael also devotes significant time to real estate, tax and debt resolution matters.
Michael graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University in 1986 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree. He received his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1995. Michael is a member of the Ohio and Auglaize County Bar Associations. Admitted to the Bar in Ohio, Michael is also licensed to practice in Federal Court in both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. Michael has served as the Village of Jackson Center, Ohio Solicitor since 2000.
Michael is president of the Board of the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council and served as Vice President from 2005 through 2010. He served as the President of the Wapakoneta Family YMCA and was the YMCA Treasurer from 2002 through 2009. Michael and his wife Courtney, also a local attorney, reside in Wapakoneta with their twins, Claire and Michael. Michael is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
